Novocibirsk is the product of experiments conducted by Hervé Isar between 1982 and 1993 in his home studio, connecting a network of synthesizers and analog sequencers to test their communications or synchronize their messages and speed multiplication, testing multi-oscillators pads out of mono generators, trying octave distribution, voltage additions and substractions.
From these trials almost following a research protocol, the result is an artificial and hypnotic music, inspired by pioneers of the 70’s and raw minimalism of the underground of the 80’s, which reminds of the likes of Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream or Klaus Schulze. a unique metronomic combination where long floating instrumental tracks follow nervous sequences and vocoder chants. an almost incidentally born music, then forgotten for ages.
Back through the ages as if they were patiently awaiting to be found again after a several decade long cryogenic sleep, five tracks are now back to life on "Télévision 1945 (volume 2)", the second series of Novocibirsk’s recordings that is being released
on the productionB label, and which will be available as cd and digital formats.
And by the way it is the story of a discovery that tells the running order of the tracks on "Télévision 1945 (volume 2)" : one of a mystery buried in the depths of the baikal lake, from where it gets brought to the surface to be under the Novocibirsk sun, under a nuclear ray which irradiate and spreads the beginning of the end. a nice analogy with the restairation work that was carried out onto Novocibirsk’s tracks during a true apocalyptic year.
